May 9, 2016, Fehman, Germany—The first race of the Killerfish German Sup Challenge series kicked off this month on Fehmarn Island. The weather was great, with wind and small waves to lend racers extra boost as they navigated the 1.5 k “Ultimate Beachrace” course. The race was composed of laps around several buoys and finishing with sprints on the beach. Previous 2014 and 2015 Champion and Team Naish rider, Noelani Sach, came out on top once again in the women’s division.
Following her success, Noelani reflects on her win: “I’m super stoked to start the race season with a dominant start-to-finish victory. I´m also super proud of my brother Maui, who made it in the men’s final and finished 6th!”
The 2016 Killerfish SUP Challenge is made up of a series of four races throughout the year with the next race in June: The Mercedes-Benz SUP World Cup in Scharbeutz.
