Kai Lenny wins Cocoa Beach and secures World Series lead

September 10, 2012

After winning the SUP Athlete of the Year Award, Kai was more than ready for the Cocoa Beach Paddle Classic. After a second place finish in the long distance race on Day 1, Kai stepped it up on Day 2 with a spectacular effort to win first place in the sprint race. Because of his results in both races, Kai won the overall event, all while riding his Naish Javelin 12’6″LE production board.

With an uncanny ability to get over any wave and stay standing, Kai’s cat like ability served him well in the epic surf conditions on offer at Cocoa Beach.

With this win, he now moves ahead of Connor in the overall ratings, and leads the tour going into the upcoming Final at Turtle Bay.
Congratulations Kai!!!
