Team Naish recently battled more than 100 paddlers at the SUP Race Cup in St. Maxime, France, marking the official start of the European SUP Racing Tour presented by NSP.
The event took place over two days. On Saturday the French “mistral” winds were macking at over 40 knots and the 7km Beach Race turned into a survival paddle, prompting organizers to reduce the course to 5km; while Sunday was much calmer and warmer, producing an epic 17km Distance Race.
Congratulations to Naish’s “Danish Viking”, Casper Steinfath, who tied for 3rd in the overall event with an average time of 2:12:38 on the Naish Javelin LE 12’6”. Manca Notar also battled through the apocalyptic conditions for a 4th place overall finish with a time of 2:43:57. Aussie Jake Jensen also claimed 5th overall with a time of 2:13:08.
Naish teammates Casper, Manca, Jake and Thomas Hebert joined forces in the relay races after two grueling events and paddled their way to 2nd place.
